چکیده

The aging of asphalt concrete is mainly governed by the binder, which a naturally occurring organic hydrocarbon. Both chemical and rheological properties binder are expected to change as continues. pavement industry increasing use different recycled materials in construction rehabilitation flexible pavements preserve natural resources, save costs, reduce environmental emissions. aged from alter its characteristics new mix. In this study, 3 virgin base types (PG 64-16, PG 58-22, 70-10) 7 blends containing binders (up 100 % replacement) were subjected conditions. these characterized using dynamic shear rheometer Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, respectively. It was found that Glover-Rowe parameter distinctively captured with for blends. A good correlation (R2 value 0.83–1.00) observed between properties. source performance grade govern blended binder. Hamburg wheel tracking (for rutting moisture sensitivity) indirect tensile cracking test fracture) tests conducted on mixes maintaining same ratios. laboratory mix parameters correlate well binders. Therefore, can be an important information predicting materials.

Characterization and Micromechanical Investigation of Recycled Asphalt Shingle Binder Blends

The sustainability movement has established a firm foothold in the Civil Engineering profession. The use of recycled asphalt shingles (RAS) is the latest development in the world of asphalt pavement sustainability. The relative abundance of tear-off shingles and their high asphalt content is driving RAS usage in highway and airfield pavements. However, the ultimate objective of any pavement sys...

Microstructural Analysis and Rheological Modeling of Asphalt Mixtures Containing Recycled Asphalt Materials

The use of recycled materials in pavement construction has seen, over the years, a significant increase closely associated with substantial economic and environmental benefits. During the past decades, many transportation agencies have evaluated the effect of adding Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP), and, more recently, Recycled Asphalt Shingles (RAS) on the performance of asphalt pavement, whil...

Aging effects on recycled WMA porous asphalt mixtures

Nowadays, the use of reclaimed asphalt pavements (RAP) is often combined with Warm Mix Asphalt (WMA) technologies with several benefits in terms of environment, cost and mechanical performance. Concerns still exist related to in-service and aging characteristics of warm recycled mixtures since WMA technologies have been developed over the last decade and hence long term performance data are not...

Environmental Impacts of Producing Asphalt Mixtures with Varying Degrees of Recycled Asphalt Materials

The environmental impacts of producing asphalt mixtures with different percentages of asphalt binder replacement (ABR) are assessed using the technique of life cycle assessment (LCA). In this paper, only the material production phase of the pavement life cycle is considered. To improve the quality of the LCA, a regionalized life cycle inventory (LCI) database for the Northern Illinois region is...
